La petite histoire :

Tristan revient d'Irlande où il a été quérir la belle Iseult pour qu'elle épouse son oncle le roi Marc de Cornouailles. La mère d'Iseult, reine d'Irlande, a concocté pour le futur couple un philtre d'amour, potion qui une fois bue par les époux, leur garantira un grand amour réciproque. Mais durant la traversée, alors qu'il fait très chaud, un jeune page de Tristan sert par erreur le philtre à Tristan et Iseult, qui tombent alors éperdument amoureux. Ce qui leur attirera beaucoup d'ennuis et de chagrin par la suite...

The little story :

Tristan returns from Ireland where he has been to fetch the beautiful Iseult to marry his uncle King Mark of Cornwall. Iseult's mother, queen of Ireland, has concocted a love potion for the future couple, a beverage which, once drunk by the spouses, will guarantee them great reciprocal love. But during the crossing, while the weather is very hot, one of Tristan's young pages mistakenly serves the potion to Tristan and Iseult, who then fall madly in love. Which will bring them a lot of trouble and grief later...
